A window at the house's place was plastered and police are handling the incident as a hate crime. Another "hate crime" as politicians are due to play to talk about racist offences against immigrants. The attack came after a gang allegedly broke into 2 homes in the university area of the city and vandalised the properties, made Nazi salutes and chanted slogans linked with the far-right grouping Combat 18. In the latest incident, the home of a Romanian family came under attack in east belfast at about 11 pm on Wednesday night, the law Service for Northern ireland said. Sir Hugh Orde named the figure of attacks "complicated" and said that his officers had done "their best".
